ECO Funding for Boilers
What Funding is available?
Free, and heavily subsidised replacement boilers are available via ECO, a Government Scheme which has been set up to help low-income households access home efficiency improvements to reduce the cost of heating their homes and to reduce their carbon footprints. If you meet the benefits related criteria, and your current boiler is at least 5 years old you will qualify, it’s that simple.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
· A free new gas condensing boiler
· The installation of your new boiler is completely free
· Getting a new boiler will reduce your energy bills and give you a potential saving of up to £350 each year
· A new boiler can increase the value of your property
Cons:
· Your boiler must be old, inefficient or broken.
· Not everyone is entitled to a free boiler.
· You may not always be offered a replacement if your boiler can be repaired it will be.
· If during installation the gas engineer has to conduct further work there may be a charge.
· Only gas boilers can be replaced through the scheme.
